The Big 2024 – We did it!

Thank you to all who gave to the Big Give this last week. Our target was £14,000, but you gave a total of £15,100 towards the second phase of our building refurbishment. The Big Give 2024

Between 3 December until 10 December 2024 your donation to Easton Christian Family Centre will be doubled! That means that for every £5 you give to us, we get £10. This will be matched up to £7,000 meaning we could get £14,000. This money will go towards warming up our building and fixing our leaking roof. Our total goal for the building is over a million pounds and we are a quarter of the way there. If you are able to give a gift to ECFC you will helping to keep ECFC a safe and warm place to so many across Bristol. One of our regular members has been in the UK, with his two sons, for five months. Tragically, he lost his wife 3 years ago. This is the reality for so many refugees in Bristol – life is incredibly tough. Families like his spend most of their time during the week sitting in hotels waiting for a government decision on their asylum claim. This is happening for hundreds of people in Bristol. City of Sanctuary

Easton Christian Family Centre has now been approved as a City of Sanctuary Organisational Pledger. We have welcomed refugees for many years, but only recently realised that we had not signed the organisational pledge, despite having a City of Sanctuary logo on the main door of our building for many years! 100K raised already – support our new Community Kitchen!

Thanks for the kind donations from our congregation and church friends – we have already raised £100k which means stage one can begin to refurbish the toilets and create a new community kitchen. Please help us to raise enough money to buy a new cooker and equipment for it. This kitchen will be used by the many community groups that use the building space during the week. It will be in use alongside Baraka Cafe kitchen to provide a place for people to train and learn new skills. If you are able please donate – every donation counts. Thank you!
